It’s between sushi and pasta for the food and water would do just fine as the beverage…eh I don’t want to sound boring…how bout ice tea?

Asian Food

My new friend that I made in my classes at CSUDH has introduced me to my new obsession of Asian food. I’ve tried so many new things its unreal. I went to a revolving sushi restaurant for the first time and it was amaaazing well actually the idea was amazing the food was eh and the service sucked. BUT the idea of watching what you want slowly make its way to you is pretty exciting haha. I then tried Dim Sum which is just various appetizer type foods deriving from China…like pork buns (mmmmm), shumai, and various other dishes…I liked that a lot but it was pretty greasy and made me feel kind of gross after. I then tried legit ramen and to be honest I’m not sure if I’m crazy about it…first of all they give you a TON of noodles and second I got sick of the broth fairly fast. Then we have the “yaki” foods and oooohhh mann did I find one of my favorites…Takoyaki, which is fried octopus balls…it reminded me of conch fritters from the Bahamas and we all know how heavenily those are, I also tried Okinomiyaki…it was good but very greasy and I felt like I was going to hurl after. Apart from all of the meals I’ve tried I also tried a ton of Asian snacks, candy, and drinks.

A few of my favorites…Aloe drink which tastes like grape and has chunks of aloe floating in it, Mochi which is chewy but when paired with the right flavors is very pleasant with texture, every burger cookies, they are adorable…they look exactly like mini cheeseburgers but their chocolate biscuits.

Tomorrow will have been two months since I lost the best dog and part of my family, Molly. Today for some reason memories of her time with our family have been flooding to my brain. I miss her so much it hurts. She spent her entire life doing everything possible to please us, up until her last hours. I still remember a moment that almost had me in instant tears when she was alive. One day after a terrible doctors appointment when I got home the first thing I did was bolt to my room and lay on my bed, a couple seconds later I hear Molly walking down the hallway and find her wagging her tail and “smiling” in my doorway. It;s almost like she knew I wasn’t happy and wanted to come and make me feel better. I miss that dog so much…..

My mom is truly the best, she does so much for me that thankful is an understatement, she’s the only person in the world who truly understands me (even when I’m being difficult), she’s not only my mother but also one of my best friends. I am so grateful to have such an amazing mother. <3
